Getting a marriage Visa
So last time that I made it down to the Thai consulate in Vientiane, Laos, it didn’t go so well.
But today I am happy to report this time around I did not go for my tourist visa but instead went for my marriage visa as it is called unofficially, it went much better and much quicker.
So today we are here to break down the simple things that you need in order to be successful if you’re going for your marriage visa for the first time at the Thai consulate Vientiane, Laos.
Visa run Non-O visa Checklist
- 1 x application form with 2 recent photos attached
- 1 x copy passport, signed by myself
- 1 x copy wife ID card signed by wife
- 1 x copy wife house book, her entries, signed by wife
in addition to,
- 1 x copy original Kor Ror 2, both sides, signed by wife and myself
- 1 x copy marriage certificate, both sides, signed by wife and myself.
- Original marriage certificate
- 2000 Baht application fee.
- 1 x copy of the entry stamp
- 1 x letter from wife.
Parts of this list found originally on ThaiVisa.com
So there you go it’s pretty simple and straightforward. To get in and out like I did, your best bet is to go there as early as possible 8 AM or earlier depending on the day of the week go, I went on a Tuesday originally and got there at 8 AM and I was number 27 on the list. If you go Monday or Friday you have a much longer wait and you need to plan accordingly.
The unofficial helpers
They have people outside the gate that don’t work for the consulate that will help you fill out your forms, get your pictures made, make copies for a price of course and these people are not recommended or associated in any way with the consulate or Thailand use at your own risk. But we all do!
There you go, guys, that’s pretty much all you need to know as far as the requirements. At the bottom, I will include a form that you can print off.
As always be safe and have a good vacation or as most who are married looking at this form, have a great marriage.
