Are you planning a trip to the 6th biggest country in the world? Do you want to know what you should see and do while you’re there? Well, then you’re right where you need to be.

The most important thing you should know is that Australia is big, and if you’re visiting it for the first time, you need to think about every little thing. Most people will say that two weeks is more than enough to see everything of importance in the Land Down Under, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Don’t make a mistake like others did. Plan ahead because Australia is much bigger than you realize.

Because Australia is so far away for most people, their trip to Australia is a once-in-a-lifetime journey. Because that’s the case for most people, they try to cram everything into two weeks of their vacation.

A word of advice – Don’t try to see and do everything. You won’t be able to do that even if your vacation is longer. Try to do and see only those things that interest you. After all, it’s your vacation, not someone else’s.

What to do?

As it was said, take a moment to think what your favorite things are and what you prefer. Do you prefer:

  • Going on an adventure
  • Swimming in the sea
  • Taking a look at the party scene
  • Visiting historical attractions
  • Attending sporting events

Ask yourself these questions and answer them because the answers will guide you in the right way.

Coastal experiences

Australia is a coastal country, and it has much to offer when it comes to that. The beaches are gorgeous and sandy, and the coastline is simply stunning. That’s probably why Australia is one of the most popular beach destinations in the world.

Things you can do on the coast:

  • Snorkel
  • Learn to surf
  • Swim with dolphins
  • Watch whales
  • Enjoy beach parties

The Outback

If you want to experience the heart of Australia, and you consider yourself to be an adventurous person, then you simply must visit The Red Centre. A visit to this area is unique, and if it’s not on your bucket list – it should be. See all the breathtaking landscapes and enjoy starlit nights.

Ride horses, camp, marvel at rivers and gorges and howl at the moon if you want to. In the heart of the smallest continent, you can truly feel what it means to be completely free.

Where to stay?

Since Australia is a well-developed country, you can expect five-star service almost wherever you go. However, if you plan on staying in this beautiful country for a long time, then you might consider renting an apartment. Sure, you might have to change your bed sheets, but you’ll be able to live like a real Australian for a while, not as a tourist.

One of the frequently asked questions by travelers is: “Can you pay rent with a credit card in Australia?” and the answer is – YES. You might even get a reward for it.

If you’re a person who likes to avoid fast food restaurant chains, then Australia’s perfect for you. You can eat organic fruit and vegetables, which are available at local farmers markets. Also, you can eat kangaroo steak and fantastic seafood, and much more.

Australia is famous for its wine, so don’t forget to visit the Barossa Valley or the Margaret River.

There are much more things to do and see, and one life is simply not enough to explore the beauty of this continent. Focus on the things you like to do, but don’t limit yourself. Try new foods, drink local boutique beers and amazing wines, visit historical places, and start planning to come back again!
